The rules, briefly

Zia Insider Magazine is published by Erica Hall. By reading it, you agree to what is below — which is short, because most of what usually goes in a page like this does not apply to a magazine.

The writing and the photographs

The stories, headlines and layout are ours, and the photographs belong to whoever took them — often the people in the stories, who are credited beneath the picture.

You are welcome to share a link to anything here, quote a piece of a story with credit, or print one out for yourself. You may not republish a whole story, or use our photographs, without asking first. Ask — the answer is usually yes.

The business listings

A listing means we think the business is worth knowing about. It is not a guarantee of their work, their prices, or how a particular job goes.

When you tap Call, Directions, Website or Book, you are dealing with that business directly. Anything you arrange is between the two of you, and we are not a party to it.

Businesses give us their own details and we publish them in good faith. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Money, and what it cannot buy

Some listings may be paid for. If a listing is paid for, it will say so on the listing itself — you will never have to guess.

Paying for a listing does not buy a story, and it does not buy a favourable one. We do not accept payment to write about anyone, and nobody gets to approve what a story says about them. What a subject does get is a chance to read it before it runs and correct a fact, a name, a date or a price.

Getting it wrong

We check what we publish and we still expect to make mistakes. When we do, write to erica@ziainsider.com. A factual error gets corrected, and if it mattered, the correction is noted rather than quietly edited away.

What we can’t promise

The magazine is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and online, and we cannot promise it will never be wrong, never be down, or that a link to somebody else’s site will still work tomorrow. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what follows from using the site — and nothing here limits anything that legally cannot be limited.

Emails and notifications

If you join the email list or turn on notifications in the app, you are asking to hear from us about the magazine. You can stop either at any time — one tap in any email, or the notification settings on your phone. See our privacy policy for what we hold and what we don’t.

Preview links

If you were sent a private preview link, it was sent to you personally, for one thing, and often before it was published. Please do not forward it or share what is on it until the story runs. The links expire on their own.

Where this applies

The magazine is published from New Mexico, and these terms are governed by New Mexico law.

Changes

If these change, the date at the top changes with them.
